Its rare to get free domain names nowadays. There still are a few options where you can get a site for free for one year. Here are two very good options.

Option 1 – Microsoft Office live.

A little known offering from Microsoft if Office Live Small Business (OLSB). It offers free hosting and a domain name free for 1 year.
